5 liquid lipsticks that we swear by
Choosing cruelty-free makeup does not mean that you should compromise on quality. Here a list of the top 5 lipsticks that we swear by!
1. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick
The highly raved Kat Von D lipstick wouldn’t be foreign to you. This pigmented liquid lipstick comes in 42 shades! It has a creamy texture and it glides smoothly over the lips but dries down to a matte, non-sticky finish that lasts all day.
Our favourite shade has got to be Lolita II. As compared to Lolita, Lolita II has a warm, terra cotta undertone and we think that it is more suitable for Asian skin tone.
This gorgeous comes at SGD$31 but a good lipstick is definitely worth the investment!
2. Kylie Lipstick
More celebrities are coming up with their own makeup line. With the launch of Fenty beauty, the buzz over Kylie lipsticks has slowly died down. However, we think that Fenty’s lipsticks are still not close substitutes for Kylie’s long-lasting matte liquid lipsticks.
While most liquid lipsticks oxidise, Kylie’s lipsticks stay true to their colour all day. It is surprisingly moisturising, so you don’t have to worry about having cracked, wrinkly lips at the end of the day (eww!).
Every girl needs a good red lipstick in her purse. We recommend Boujee, a deepened rich red colour that will turn heads whenever you wear it!
3. Colourpop
If Kylie liquid lipsticks are a little steep for you, Colourpop gives you a bang for you buck! Priced at USD$6 per liquid lipstick (that’s only SGD$8.17!), Colourpop lipsticks are extremely affordable and they carry a wide range of colours!
Our favourite liquid lipstick: Aquarius Ultra Satin Lipstick
We are loving the collection from Colourpop’s collaboration with Kathleen Lights! Although it is not a new launch, this soft pink nude lipstick gives the perfect satin finish for an everyday, versatile look.
The formula is super long-wearing; however, it is not transfer-proof.
4. Huda Beauty
Huda Beauty was started by a Huda Kattan, a makeup artist and Instagram beauty influencer. While not many may have heard of Huda Beauty, her liquid lipsticks are AMAZING! The consistency of her lipsticks is almost water-like. It is so pigmented that you can just apply a thin layer to achieve flawless lips!
They are currently selling their Nude Love Collection for USD$40, that’s about SGD$13 per mini lipstick and you get to try 4 popular nude colours at once!
5. NYX
NYX has been getting a lot of attention in Singapore these recent years. We love NYX because of their affordable makeup range and cruelty-free ingredients! There has been a lot of discussion on whether NYX is cruelty-free ever since its acquisition by L’Oréal group. In 2015, PETA has stepped out and announced that NYX remains a cruelty-free brand (yesss!).
If you are looking for an affordable peachy nude liquid lipstick, Ruffle Trim from NYX Lip Lingerie Collection will be your best bet! We love that the applicator is flat and it gives the user a good control. However, their lipstick may be a little drying so do prep your lips before application!
